Matt Perry
Founder & DeveloperHi there! I'm Matt, the creator and sole developer behind News Hub Fantasy. I'm a software engineer by trade and a lifelong football fan at heart. I built this platform from the ground up because I believe CFL and UFL fans deserve the same quality fantasy football experience that NFL fans have enjoyed for years.
When I'm not writing code or tweaking scoring algorithms, you'll find me watching every CFL and UFL game I can get my eyes on, analyzing player stats, and arguing with friends about which sleeper pick is going to break out next.
Why I Started News Hub Fantasy
It started with a simple frustration: there was no dedicated fantasy football platform for CFL and UFL fans. While NFL fantasy apps are a dime a dozen, fans of spring football and Canadian football were left cobbling together spreadsheets and honor-system leagues just to compete with friends.
I saw an opportunity to fill that gap. As someone who follows both the CFL and UFL religiously, I knew exactly what features fans needed -- live snake drafts, real-time scoring, waiver wires, Pick'em contests, and a platform that actually understands the nuances of three-down football and spring league rosters.
News Hub Fantasy launched as a passion project and has grown into a community of dedicated fans who share the same love for these leagues. Every feature on this platform was built because I wanted it as a fan first, and every update is driven by feedback from our users.

With years of software engineering experience and a deep understanding of fantasy sports mechanics, I've built News Hub Fantasy on a modern, reliable technology stack. The platform handles live drafts with real-time updates, accurate scoring calculations, and a responsive design that works on any device.
On the football side, I've been following the CFL and spring football leagues for years. I track every roster move, study player performance data, and stay plugged into the latest news so that our player database and stats are always up to date. This isn't a generic platform with football slapped on top -- it's purpose-built for the unique rules and roster structures of the CFL and UFL.
Beyond the Gridiron
When I'm not building features or watching game film, I'm a pretty normal guy. I enjoy coding side projects, exploring new tech, gaming, and spending time outdoors. I'm a firm believer that the best software comes from developers who have lives outside of their screens -- it keeps you grounded and reminds you that at the end of the day, this platform is about helping real people have more fun with the sports they love.
